StellarWP is actively seeking an exceptional Senior Full Stack Engineer for a 100% remote position, with a profound understanding of WordPress and WooCommerce. This vital role is tailored for a candidate who excels in modern frontend technologies, including JavaScript, React, CSS, and Tailwind CSS, and possesses substantial PHP knowledge. Experience with Laravel is regarded as a significant advantage, offering an extra dimension to our development efforts. As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will lead the development of engaging, responsive web interfaces for our WooCommerce extension and related projects, ensuring smooth integration with essential APIs like Stripe and PayPal. The successful candidate will be someone who thrives in a remote work environment, demonstrating the ability to focus and deliver exceptional results without the need for traditional office space.

This is a permanent, full-time, remote position with a salary up to $130K.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the frontend development efforts, creating sophisticated user experiences across our WooCommerce extension
  • Utilize PHP knowledge to develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins, ensuring seamless backend integration
  • Implement third-party APIs, focusing on payment gateways such as Stripe and PayPal, to enhance functionality and user engagement
  • Employ advanced frontend technologies (JavaScript, React, CSS, Tailwind CSS) to develop dynamic, responsive, and visually appealing web solutions
  • Collaborate closely with the backend team, benefiting from Laravel experience, to deliver efficient, scalable web applications
  • Create, review, and update technical documentation
  • Write automated tests to validate functionality
  • Adhere to best practices in web development, ensuring high performance, security, and cross-browser, cross-device compatibility
  • Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in frontend development and eCommerce solutions

Requirements:
  • 7+ years experience in the WordPress space
  • Strong expertise in frontend web development, with a comprehensive portfolio showcasing JavaScript, React, CSS, and Tailwind CSS projects
  • Extensive knowledge of PHP and experience with WordPress and WooCommerce, including custom theme and plugin development
  • Laravel experience is highly valued, adding significant value to our development process
  • Proven ability to work with external APIs, with a special emphasis on payment processing integrations
  • Familiarity with WordPress and WooCommerce APIs, as well as relevant frontend SDKs (e.g., Stripe's React, ChartJS)
  • A commitment to web development best practices, particularly in responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members
  • Must thrive in a 100% remote work environment, demonstrating the ability to maintain focus and productivity without traditional office oversight

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with developing blocks for the Block Editor
  • Experience with continuous integration and automated deployment pipelines
  • Experience with JS application frameworks
  • Experience building sites that are accessible (you've worked with WAI-ARIA and done WCAG 2.0+ AA/Section 508 work) and performant (working knowledge of best practices)
  • Experience in more advanced areas of JavaScript (state management; async operations; unit, snapshot, and integration testing; REST APIs)
  • Full stack experience beyond HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Background working on large scale WordPress projects
