We are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the financial operations of a thriving company, where you will be primarily responsible for managing our general ledger system, preparing monthly financial statements, and performing various other accounting duties.
Responsibilities
As a Permanent Senior Staff Accountant, your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Overseeing the Accounts Receivable (A/R) process, ensuring all invoices are issued and payments are received timely and accurately.
2. Managing the general ledger (GL) system and conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy.
3. Preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and expense reports.
4. Assisting with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
5. Performing monthly reconciliations and assisting with year-end closings.
6. Using advanced Excel functions, such as VLOOKUP, to streamline data analysis and reporting processes.
7. Identifying and resolving discrepancies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
8. Collaborating with the finance team to implement financial policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with these policies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Senior Staff Accountant position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, with a strong understanding of A/R, general ledger systems, balance sheets, income statements, and expense reports.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically with advanced functions like VLOOKUP.
4. Excellent analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to spot errors and discrepancies in financial data.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
6. A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
7. Knowledge of accounting software and systems, and the ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies.
