The Risk, Safety, and Security Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an organization-wide risk and safety management program. This individual sets the vision and program of CHS safety standards, policies, and services as well as responds to potential threats or emergencies. The Risk, Safety, and Security Manager conducts risk assessments, collects and analyzes data, statistics, reports and market trends, identifies training requirements for both Central Office and Center employees in the areas of safety and security as part of new employee onboarding as well as to maintain regulatory compliance. This individual is part of the CHS Central Office team, reporting to the Finance and Operations Director. Starting salary is in the range of $57,997 to $77,426 per year, based on expertise. Qualifications: Creating and implementing Early Childhood Education-appropriate Safety and Security policies, best practices, and governance Tracking and monitoring safety/security risks and ensuring critical mitigations to quickly resolve situations Working with the CHS center teams to ensure child and staff safety, and safety policies are being followed and prioritized Assisting in creating, revising, and updating training needs of each Center. Work with Center Director to establish a safety committee Writing investigative, incident, accident, and similar reports Directing operations at the scenes of critical incidents, significant calls for service, and special events Reviewing incident reports completed by safety officers and managers. Ensuring corrective action is taken for unsafe conditions Coordinating meetings and trainings with and/or for managers, safety officers and others related to ensuring compliance with safety and security regulations and procedures. Ensuring all safety equipment is properly maintained and in good working order, and recalls and expirations on child equipment is replaced or tracked Ensuring that the centers maintain OSHA compliance Ensuring Critical Incident Plans are in place at each center and participating in both drills and tabletop exercises Developing, implementing, and maintaining each Emergency Response Plan, and ensuring that all teams are properly trained on it Conducting regular risk assessments to identify potential safety and security threats, hazards, and vulnerabilities, and develop strategies to mitigate those risks effectively Collaborating with Centers, Central Office, local law enforcement, emergency responders, and community partners to foster a culture of safety and security and facilitate effective communication and coordination during emergencies Liaising with local government and law enforcement as needed Presenting information on crime prevention and other safety related presentations to parents, and staff Coordinating with security suppliers and vendors for a variety of initiatives Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or Safety Management Minimum of 5 - 8 years' experience in related field Valid PA Driver's license Experience in creating and/or implementing an education-based safety and security program Ability to operate security camera, and access control systems Ability to proactively identify problems and implement solutions Comfortability with technology including MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and/or willingness to learn Responsible, enthusiastic, and cares about working in a mission-focused organization Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to influence, lead, and educate teams Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities Willingness to be held accountable and receive feedback Demonstrated understanding of and ability to effectively work with low-income families (preferred) Commitment to the mission and values of CHS and MHS and demonstrated high degree of integrity as all MHS and CHS staff are considered to be role models for children U.S. work authorization and successful completion of pre-employment background checks and clearances Who we are and what we’re looking for At CHS, we are leaders passionate about early childhood education and community betterment.
