The Events and Catering Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Events and Catering Manager with sales, marketing and oversight of onsite and offsite special events, weddings and catering. Work schedule will include nights and weekends. The Events and Catering Coordinator must maintain all duties and responsibilities as set forth below and must drive results through event and catering sales and profit maximization.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Event and Catering Operations:
- In this Role, you will be responsible for coordinating events and catering orders and ensuring our guests receive the highest level of service. The be successful in this role, you should have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work with a sense of urgency.
- Answers events/catering incoming calls, documents all event inquiries and maintains a master event calendar with Events and Catering Manager;
- Assists with maintaining detailed up- to-date event files and documents all conversations, orders, special requests;
- Assists with the planning, coordination and execution of private, semi-private and catering onsite and offsite events;
- Responds to email inquiries related to events and provides accurate and detailed information to all potential event prospects;
- Ensures that all Team Members are informed of all event offerings in order to properly promote and discuss with onsite guests and potential clients
- Work closely with the catering team to ensure menu items are prepared on time
- Build and maintain relationships with external vendors
- Monitor competitor activity and trends in the catering industry
Additional Responsibilities - Completing other tasks, projects and job duties as assigned and/or deemed appropriate
- Assists with Team Member birthday program and team incentives
- Assist with daily Restaurant Operations as needed
QUALIFICATIONS: - HS Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year food and beverage experience
- 6 months experience in catering, events or event planning
- Proven strong communication and leadership skills
- Excellent organizational skills, communication skills and multi-tasking capabilities
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, Revel POS, Restaurant365, and Tripleseat)
- Must be able to stand for 10 hours and work 20-25 hours per week
- Must be in good physical condition and possess good communication skills
- Must be alert to management, staff, and guest needs
- Knowledge of Health Department Standards
- Knowledge and skills in people management including recruiting and scheduling
- Is a brand ambassador both in and outside of the restaurant
