The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to environmental justice and community power building, with experience in grassroots organizing and policy advocacy. Responsibilities Develop and implement strategic campaigns to promote environmental justice and address issues affecting marginalized communities. Engage with community members to understand their concerns and priorities related to environmental justice. Build partnerships with local organizations, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders to support environmental justice initiatives. Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and public forums to raise awareness and mobilize community action. Conduct research and policy analysis to support advocacy efforts and develop evidence-based solutions. Advocate for local, regional, and national policies that advance environmental justice. Coordinate with media and communications teams to amplify the organization's message and the voices of affected communities. Track and evaluate the progress of campaigns and initiatives to ensure they meet their objectives. Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, public policy, social work, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus. Minimum of 3 years of experience in community organizing, environmental advocacy, or a related field. Deep understanding of environmental justice issues, including the social, economic, and political factors contributing to environmental disparities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Experience in campaign strategy, planning, and execution. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proficient in data analysis, report writing, and digital tools for organizing and communication.
