Position:  Commercial Roofing Estimator

We are currently looking to expand our ever-growing Sales Team by hiring an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to support the Central Illinois area.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Project Assessment: Conducting thorough assessments of roofing projects to understand the scope of work, including the size of the roof, existing conditions, and any specific requirements or challenges.
• Cost Estimation: Using specialized software and tools to calculate material quantities, labor costs, equipment expenses, and overheads to prepare accurate cost estimates for roofing projects.
• Material Selection: Collaborating with suppliers and vendors to select appropriate roofing materials based on project specifications, quality standards, and budget constraints.
• Bid Preparation: Preparing comprehensive bids and proposals that outline the estimated costs, project timelines, and other relevant details for submission to potential clients or stakeholders.
• Communication: Effectively communicating with project managers, clients, architects, and other team members to ensure clarity regarding project requirements and cost-related information.
• Regulatory Compliance: Staying updated with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards to ensure that all estimates and proposals adhere to legal requirements.
• Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of estimates, contracts, change orders, and other project-related documentation for reference and audit purposes.

Qualifications

• Commercial Roofing Estimator experience (3-5 years)
• Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of roofing materials such as TPO and EPDM systems. Understanding construction techniques, and industry best practices is essential for accurate estimation.
• Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing project requirements, interpreting blueprints or technical drawings, and performing complex calculations is crucial.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with estimating software such as Xactimate, PlanSwift, or AccuLynx is often required to streamline the estimation process.
• Attention to Detail: The ability to pay close attention to detail when assessing project specifications and compiling cost data is vital for precision in estimates.
• Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary for interacting with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
• Time Management: The capacity to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously is valuable in this fast-paced role.
